Carriage Clocks Create Memories

I was visiting a friend the other day, and I heard a clock chiming. All of a sudden I was taken back to my childhood, and days when I visited my grandparents. It was almost like I was there…kind of a weird ‘deja vue’ feeling. The chimes reminded me of my grandparent’s clock. They had one of those carriage clocks that chimes every 15 minutes. I can remember a couple times when I stayed overnight, and the clock kept me awake for hours! But then, it just sorted blending in to the background, and may have actually lulled me to sleep.One thing I know for sure, whenever I hear those chimes, it gives me a warm feeling…one that reminds me of times spent with my grandparents. I wonder what became of their clock? I’ll have to ask my parents. Now that I think about it, I would love to have that clock as an heirloom that will keep the memory of my grandma and grandpa alive for me.
