Picking the Perfect Exterior Paint
September 28, 2009 on 2:21 am | By admin | In BusinessThere are several factors to be considered before you choose your exterior paint. To start with, you have to check the type of paints and quality along with the contents including additives, binders, color pigments, etc. In general, there are solvent-based and water-based exterior paints which are associated with alkyd/oil and latex respectively. The sheen aspect of the paints determines the degree of stain-resistance of the same. It is usually categorized into gloss (toughest), semi-gloss (for casings and trimwork), satin (moderate sheen), and flat paints (best for hiding imperfections on the surface). The hiding power, color retention, chalking resistance, and blister resistance are other factors to be considered.
