Before peas became what we think of them today, which is delicious produce that is great for any dish, they were shunned by people in fear of contracting a fatal disease. People in the Roman Empire were afraid of getting poisoned that they prohibited consumption of peas not unless they are dried first.

It was only during France’s Thirty Years War when peas came back from condemnation. A gardener who grew tired of the usual stuff they eat at the palace decided to cultivate the peas growing on the ground. The peas became a hit. From then on, people loved peas.But if you are going to eat them as they are, you will soon find yourself despising its taste.

You can try having pickled peas once in a while, just so you can break the monotony of having peas all the time.

Pickled peas are way tastier and a lot more fun to eat.
