My sister and I went to Mexico recently and we had done our foreign exchange of money before we even crossed over the border. One piece of advise that we had received from a friend before leaving was to bargain with the street vendors. Not speaking Spanish fluently we actually made out pretty well the one day we hit the street vendors. The items being sold were cheaper than any ‘souvenier’ found in the hotel or tourist traps. We even had money to exchange back when we returned home.
