It’s hard being a fish owner

Taking care of goldfish need not be a complex ordeal.  There is a reason goldfish are ideal as a first pet for kids to handle themselves.  They need regular feeding, fresh water, a clean tank and that’s about it!  While some people get fancy with tank filtering systems or get hyper sensitive when it comes to water pH or smell, goldfish really don’t require that type of vigilance.  Once again, that makes them ideal for a first pet.  In order to take care of goldfish you will need to show your son or daughter how to proper clean a fish bowl.  This is the one area most children need the most help with as it can be tricky when transferring the fish into a baggie while the cleaning occurs.  But that’s really it, that’s the hardest part of caring for goldfish! Don’t let the fancy magazine scare your child away from the great opportunity of raising a goldfish.
